    Ingredients

    1 cup white flour

    ½ teaspoon salt

    4 teaspoons baking powder

    1 cup finely ground cornmeal

    ¼ cup white sugar

    1 cup milk

    ¼ cup oil

    1 egg

    Directions

    Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients, beat the egg, then combine with the dry ingredients until blended. Pour into a 9"x9" greased pan and bake at 425°F for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown on edges.

    Notes

    Blue cornmeal can be used for more flavor.
