Grandma Jean’s Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

1 28 ounce can of pumpkin

1 1/2 cup melted margarine or butter

4 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup milk

5 beaten eggs

5 1/2 cups flour

3 tsp. baking soda

3 tsp. cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. ground clove

2 tsp. salt

Directions

Mix first five ingredients until well blended and sugar dissolves.

Sift dry ingredients and blend together. May add nuts or raisins.

Bake at 350°F for 45 to 55 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

This recipe comes from my neighbor in lowa and makes five medium loaves. It is very moist and a favorite of my family.
