Ingredients

BEEF: 1.5 lbs ground beef

1/4 cup oil, small chopped onion, 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1 tbsp ground coriander, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp dried mint, 1.5 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp black pepper. Optional 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or 1 tsp paprika.

1/2 cup water, 3 tbsp tomato paste, 1 15 oz can tomato sauce

YOGURT: plain yogurt, salt, dried mint- optional minced garlic.

TOPPINGS: sautéed green onions, chopped cilantro, dried mint

Directions

sauté onion in oil, add ground beef, minced garlic, and all the seasonings. Brown well for a few minutes. Add water, close lid and let it cook through. When water reduces add tomato paste, sear well, add tomato sauce and leave on a low simmer for a few minutes

when pasta is cooked and drained, place it back in pot and add a few spoonfuls of meat sauce to coat the pasta.

LAYER: yogurt at the bottom of your dish, top with pasta, add a little more yogurt, sautéed green onions, meat sauce- layer one more time. For your final layer add fresh cilantro and more dried mint.
