Garlic-Brown Butter Croutons

6 oz. country style bread

10 crushed garlic cloves

4 Tbsp. unsalted butter

Salt and pepper

Directions

Tear 6 oz. country-style bread into 1" pieces (about 4 cups); place in a large bowl. Cook 10 crushed garlic cloves and 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, swirling often, until foaming subsides and butter is golden brown, 6-8 minutes. Drizzle over bread and toss to coat; season with salt and pepper. Spread out on a small rimmed baking sheet and bake in a 375° oven until deep golden brown and crisp, 20-25 minutes. Let cool; discard garlic.

Do ahead: Croutons can be made 1 week ahead. Store airtight at room temperature.
